Freedom
I know why the caged bird sings!
I know why the bird’s song rings!
A song so loud and clear it beams!
A sun in song, light unforeseen!
For the caged bird sang of freedom,
and the freedom sang back of freedom.
The freedom stalked, the freedom talked,
and the freedom sang unfreedom.
Who’s really caged?
Who’s really trapped?
The cage just changes,
the bird through the ages.
The cage just changes,
the cage through the ages.
Who’s really trapped?
Who’s really caged?
For the caged bird sang of freedom,
and the freedom sang back of freedom.
Haiku: Grasp the Sky
Free bird, grasp the sky.
Caged bird, sing your freedom song.
Free bird, hear your friend.
Caged bird, sing no more.
Free bird, salvage your friend’s song.
Caged bird, trust your friend.
Free bird, grasp the sky.
Caged bird, learn to fly again.
Free bird, help your friend.
Caged bird, trust your friend.
Free bird, teach to fly again.
Caged bird, grasp the sky.
Free bird, trust your friend.
Caged bird, too afraid to fly.
Free bird, does not know.
Caged bird, fly again!
Caged bird, sing your freedom song!
Caged bird, trust the wind!
Free bird knows the wind.
Caged bird learns to trust the wind.
Free bird, sing your song.
Caged bird glides with wind.
Caged bird knows wind is fickle.
Caged bird knows free bird.
